Your private Wallet
Your Wallet shows your ROMConsole coin balance. Coins can be used for supported player features such as buying rewards from the rewards area.
Wallet activity is linked to your signed-in player account, so account-based balances, purchases and reward ownership can be saved.
Wallet basics
- Wallet balance belongs to the signed-in player account.
- Coins can be used for supported player features such as buying rewards where available.
- A successful reward purchase deducts the required coin amount from the Wallet.
- If the player does not have enough coins, the purchase does not complete and no reward is awarded.
- Wallet balance and transaction details are private account information.
- Other players cannot see your wallet balance.
Buying rewards with coins
Purchase flow
Pick an available reward from the rewards area.
Each reward can show a coin cost based on its type or rarity.
If the balance is high enough, the cost is deducted and the reward is added to your collection.
Insufficient balance and stacks
If you do not have enough coins, the purchase will not complete and your Wallet balance will not be deducted.
Some rewards can be owned more than once. If you buy the same reward again, it can stack in your collection and show as a quantity such as x2 or x3.
Rewards, collections and showcases
What rewards are
Rewards are collectible items linked to your ROMConsole player account. They can be earned, claimed, purchased or collected through supported player activity.
Where rewards appear
- My Rewards
- Account showcase
- Public profile showcase, if visible
- Trading system, if eligible
How to earn rewards
- playing eligible sessions while signed in
- reaching player rank levels
- claiming rank rewards when available
- completing eligible account activity requirements
- earning the 10-game milestone reward
- collecting or buying rewards through supported reward systems
Free reward after 10 games
10-game play milestone
Players can earn a free reward after reaching the required 10-game play milestone. Once the requirement is complete, the reward can be claimed from the relevant reward or progress area.
Claiming the reward
When the milestone is ready, use the claim button to collect the reward. If the button is not ready yet, keep playing eligible games while signed in until the requirement is complete.
Rank level reward claims
When claims appear
As your Global Rank increases, level rewards may become available. When a rank reward is ready, use the claim button to add it to your account.
Claim states
- not enough XP yet
- reward available to claim
- already claimed
- claim successful
Trading with players
How trades work
Trading lets players exchange rewards with each other. A player creates a trade by offering one reward and requesting another. Another player can complete the trade only if they own the requested reward.
Before confirming
If you do not own the required reward, the trade will show as unavailable or missing the required item. Once a trade is completed, the rewards are exchanged between the two players.
Tip: Always check what you are offering and what you will receive before confirming a trade.
How Global Rank and XP work
Global Rank
Global Rank is your overall ROMConsole progression level. It is based on XP earned through eligible account activity. As you gain XP, your player level and rank title can increase.
Rank areas may show your current level, rank title, XP progress, next level target, claimable rewards and global position if available.
What contributes to XP
XP may be earned from eligible player activity while signed in.
- eligible play sessions
- continued account activity
- achievements and achievement progress where supported
- qualifying save/load activity where supported
- rank progression milestones
- claimable progress rewards
- other supported ROMConsole player actions
XP cooldowns and eligibility checks
Why XP may not increase every time
ROMConsole uses cooldowns and eligibility checks to keep player progression fair. Some actions may only award XP after a waiting period or after qualifying activity is detected.
Why cooldowns exist
- prevent spam clicking
- prevent duplicate XP awards
- protect leaderboard fairness
- keep rank progression balanced
- reduce accidental repeat rewards
My Rewards, showcases and privacy
My Rewards
My Rewards shows owned rewards. Duplicate rewards may show a quantity such as x2.
Account showcase
Your account showcase is editable by you. Choose which owned rewards you want to display in showcase slots.
Profile privacy
Your public profile may show rewards if your privacy settings allow it. If rewards are hidden, other players will not see your reward collection on your public profile.
Local ROMs, ZIP files and cloud saves
Local ROM Play
Choose a supported ROM file from your device. ROMConsole opens the file in your browser and does not upload the ROM file to the server.
ZIP File Support
Select a ZIP containing one supported ROM file. ZIP contents are inspected locally in the browser so players do not need to extract files manually.
Cloud Saves
Registered players can save compatible game progress to their account. ROMConsole stores save data, not ROM files.
Continue Save
To continue a save, select the same matching local ROM or a ZIP containing the matching ROM. ROMConsole verifies the file before loading account save data.
Local ROM Policy
ROMConsole does not provide ROMs, BIOS files, copyrighted games or downloads.
Players choose their own ROM or ZIP file from their device. ROM and ZIP files stay local in the browser and are not uploaded to, stored on, streamed from, cached by or transferred through the ROMConsole server.
ROMConsole may store account data, save data, achievements, gameplay stats, leaderboard metadata, rewards, wallet data and non-reversible verification hashes for registered-player features.
Do not use ROMConsole with files you do not have the legal right to use.
Guest vs registered players
Guest players
- Can choose a local ROM or ZIP if guest local play is enabled.
- Can play temporarily in the browser.
- Do not normally get account Wallet, cloud saves, rewards, achievements or leaderboard progress.
- Do not sync account progress across devices.
Registered players
- Can use account features such as Wallet, rewards, cloud saves and autosave where supported.
- Can continue saves by selecting the matching local ROM or ZIP.
- Can unlock achievements, earn eligible XP and appear in leaderboards.
- Can manage profile visibility and showcase owned rewards.
Troubleshooting
Refresh the page after a purchase or claim. If a purchase failed due to insufficient coins, the reward should not be awarded and the balance should not be deducted.
Check that you are signed in and have enough coins for the reward. If the balance is too low, ROMConsole will show an insufficient-balance message.
If duplicate rewards are supported, your collection may show a quantity such as x2. Refresh My Rewards after buying or claiming.
You need to own the exact reward requested by the trade before you can complete it.
Eligibility checks and cooldowns can prevent repeated actions from awarding XP every time. Continue with normal account activity.
The required milestone, rank level or eligibility state may not be complete yet.
Check that the file type is supported and that your browser allows local file selection. ROMConsole does not download or provide ROM files.
The ZIP must contain a supported ROM file. Manuals, images, text files and unsupported formats are ignored.
Select the same matching ROM or ZIP again. ROMConsole verifies the local file before loading the save.
Achievements require a registered player account. Guests do not earn account achievement progress.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Wallet?
The Wallet shows your private ROMConsole coin balance for your signed-in player account. Coins can be used with supported player features such as reward purchases where available.
What are coins used for?
Coins can be used for supported account features such as buying rewards from the rewards area. The available actions depend on the site configuration.
Why can't I buy a reward?
You may not have enough coins, you may not be signed in, or the reward may not currently be available. If your balance is too low, the purchase does not complete.
What happens if I do not have enough coins?
The reward is not awarded, your balance is not deducted, and ROMConsole shows an insufficient-balance message.
Can I own more than one of the same reward?
Some rewards can stack. If you own more than one copy, your collection can show a quantity such as x2 or x3.
How do I earn rewards?
Play while signed in and complete eligible account activity. Rewards may also be available through milestones, rank claims, purchases or supported collection systems.
How do I claim the free reward after 10 games?
When the required 10-game milestone is complete, use the available claim button in the relevant reward or progress area.
Why can't I claim a reward yet?
Your account may not have reached the required milestone, level or eligibility state yet. Keep playing eligible sessions while signed in.
How do rank reward claims work?
As your Global Rank increases, rewards may become available to claim. When a claim is ready, use the claim button to add it to your account.
How do trades work?
A player offers one reward and asks for another. Another player can complete the trade only if they own the requested reward.
Why does a trade say I am missing a reward?
That trade requires a reward you do not currently own. You need the requested reward before you can complete that trade.
How does Global Rank work?
Global Rank is your overall account progression level. It increases as eligible XP is earned through supported account activity.
What gives me XP?
XP may come from eligible play sessions, achievements, rank milestones, claimable progress rewards and other supported account actions.
Why did my XP not increase?
Some actions have eligibility checks or cooldowns. Repeating the same action too quickly may not award XP every time.
Why do XP cooldowns exist?
Cooldowns help prevent spam clicking, duplicate XP awards and unfair progression while keeping rankings balanced.
Can I show rewards on my profile?
Yes, if your profile privacy setting allows rewards to be visible, your public profile can show your reward showcase.
Can I hide my rewards from other players?
Yes. If rewards are hidden in your privacy settings, other players should not see your reward names, images or quantities on your public profile.
Do guests earn rewards?
Account rewards require a signed-in player account so progress and ownership can be saved. Guest features do not normally create account reward progress.
Why do I need to select my local ROM again for a saved game?
ROMConsole may need you to choose the matching local ROM again so the browser can verify the file before loading the matching cloud save.
