This Acceptable Use Policy explains the rules that apply when using ROMConsole, including player accounts, local-file play, private libraries, saves, achievements, leaderboards, rewards, trading features, public catalogue content, profiles, messages, forums, wall posts, community features, uploads, and any related services.
By using ROMConsole, you agree to follow this Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Purpose of This Policy
ROMConsole is provided for lawful, personal, community, and administrator-managed use.
This policy is designed to protect users, site owners, administrators, rights holders, the platform, and the wider community from misuse, copyright infringement, abuse, spam, cheating, security threats, and unlawful activity.
2. Lawful Use Only
You must use ROMConsole only for lawful purposes.
You must not use ROMConsole to upload, publish, distribute, share, promote, request, trade, link to, or make available unlawful content, infringing content, pirated content, illegal downloads, malware, abusive content, or material that violates the rights of others.
You are responsible for your own use of ROMConsole and for any content, files, messages, posts, profile information, public catalogue entries, or other material you submit or control.
3. Local ROM Files
ROMConsole may allow users to open compatible local game files from their own device.
For local play, the file is selected by the player from their own device and is read locally by the player’s browser.
A locally selected ROM or game file is not uploaded to the ROMConsole server, is not stored on the ROMConsole server, is not streamed from the ROMConsole server, is not cached on the ROMConsole server, is not made public, and is not made available for other users to download.
You must only open local files that you created, own, have permission to use, are licensed to use, or are otherwise legally allowed to use.
ROMConsole may store metadata, file hashes, save data, achievements, statistics, private library references, and gameplay records connected to local files. These records are not ROM files and do not contain the game file itself.

The site owner may review message-related records where needed to investigate reports, abuse, safety issues, legal complaints, or rule violations.
9. Rewards, Achievements, Items, and Trading
If rewards, achievements, virtual items, collectibles, XP, ranks, points, leaderboards, or trading features are enabled, you must not abuse them.
