Public Catalogue & Redistribution Rights Policy
ROMConsole includes an admin-managed public catalogue. This feature is intended for content the site owner is legally allowed to publish, such as original games, homebrew games, public-domain games, open-source games, licensed games, or games where the site owner has explicit redistribution permission.
The public catalogue must not be used to distribute copyrighted ROM files, BIOS files, commercial games or third-party content unless the site owner has the required rights.
Site owners are responsible for verifying the rights position before adding any public catalogue file. ROMConsole does not verify ownership, grant rights, or provide permission to distribute third-party content.
If a rights holder identifies public catalogue content that may infringe their rights, the site owner should review and remove or disable access to the relevant content where appropriate.
Private local ROM library entries are different from public catalogue games. Private local entries are selected from the user's own device and are not uploaded to the server. Public catalogue games are hosted/published by the site owner and therefore require clear rights or redistribution permission.
